The world seems so full of fear and uncertainty right now it can be hard not to get wrapped up in it all and become overwhelmed. For some of us (myself included) before this pandemic, dealing with high levels of anxiety and stress was normal. Even though I still struggle with those things, I have found myself in a better space since Corona virus came along. It’s so easy to say you’re going to get this or that done, “I’m going to start a business !” or “ I’m going to move into my own place !” Most of us fail when it comes to actually doing what we have to do to bring our ideas to life.
I definitely have a lot of spare time on my hands and I know some of you do too. So I wanted to share with you all how I’ve kept myself in a healthy headspace while setting some new goals in place too.
For all my fellow content creators, this is our time ! It’s time to breathe life into all those concepts that you’re always coming up with but making excuses for and never executing!
For example, a week ago I decided that I wanted to do a early 2000’s theme photoshoot. It was a simple idea but I knew with the right outfit, makeup and angles it would be fire! I wanted to use clothes I already owned because of how soon I wanted to do the shoot. I almost gave up until it finally struck me... it’s time to cut some shiii up !
I took a dress that I had previously purchased from Missguided and cut off the bottom half of the dress.
By cutting that part off, I made a cute crop top! So to complete my look I added some light wash blue jeans from PrettyLittleThing:
I wore my Nike Classic Cortez and topped it off with a pair of bamboo earrings!
I got dressed, did my makeup, booked my personal photographer (my little brother) and I was photoshoot ready !
Following through with a project I enjoyed doing, especially in a short amount of time made me feel so good! It reminded me of how much power I find in my talents. I'll be sharing so me tips on how to do the same:
1. Create a physical representation of your goals!
(ex.vision board, journal, using a whiteboard, file/binder)
2. Pay attention to others that are already successful in what you're trying to do! Ask them questions if possible!
3. Educate yourself! If you don't have the "know-how" already, research is your best friend!
4. Invest in yourself by saving your money! Since everything is on lockdown (unnecessary expenses like going out to eat or shopping), right now. This is your time to really stack up your savings for whatever goal you're working towards. Make a savings goal for every month or give yourself a deadline to have a certain amount.
So, let us all try to accomplish our goals while making our hearts happy through this turbulent time!
